OUR STORY

We are absolutely thrilled to finally share a passion project that has been quietly taking shape for some time—a series of Venetian drinking chocolates crafted from an ancient Italian recipe that has been in Vanessa’s family for centuries.

This treasured recipe, once kept hidden away, was originally sold in 18th-century Venice by the cloistered nuns of Santa Maria dei Miracoli. Now, it returns to delight modern chocolate lovers with its deep history and unparalleled richness.

SANTA MARIA DEI MIRACOLI: WHERE EVERYTHING STARTED

Centuries ago, behind the quiet walls of a Venetian nunnery, a unique tradition was born. Drinking chocolates were crafted and sold to the wealthy merchant class through the cloister’s iron gates. Sanctioned by the Church, even during Lent (since the chocolate was for drinking and not eating) this luxurious elixir gained fame across Europe, celebrated as much for its decadent flavor as for its rumored aphrodisiac qualities.

OUR RECIPE

Inspired by an 18th-century family recipe, our drinking chocolates capture the spirit of Venice’s Golden Age, when the floating city was alive with the exotic aromas of the spice trade. Gently mixed with hot milk, its dense, luscious texture and deep, indulgent flavors offer an experience that goes beyond ordinary hot chocolate. In fact, each cup is an invitation to savor a connection to history, culture, elegance and indulgence.

Che bevanda delicata! Che diletto che mi dà!
Viva pur la cioccolata, che dà gusto e sanità!
What a delicate drink! What a delight each sip!
It gives flavor and health, for chocolate hip hip!
